Outreach Needle Exchange and Support Services

• WFCDT provides outreach services, including needle and syringe exchange, support and information to drug users, their families and friends.

• This involves :-

- providing information on well researched safer injecting techniques, along with sterile injecting equipment, to intravenous drug users

- following an initial assessment, providing guidance to ensure clients can access relevant services and treatment, or assisting solely with the aim of reducing risk of harm

- offering direct support services to individuals and families experiencing difficulties with substance misuse or as a result of someone else’s use

- providing condom distribution (following assessment) and pregnancy testing as well as advice and guidance on safe sexual health practices.
